Google offers many more apps for work and personal use that also have effective use in the classroom setting. Most are free, while a few are offered through affordable monthly plans. Click on the linked pages below to learn more about each application.
Applications that are available through Google include:
I am the one that started the bullet points in Google Calendar. Please don't feel like we have to bullet point everything, or that it has to remain in bullets. I just wanted to be sure I had the basics before details were added!
I added Google Drawings with a link to the page that opens it in a new window. Should we do that for all of the links or do most of you prefer opening links in the same window?
Jenna, I liked your start with the Google Cal. I used it as a template for the basic layout of the Google Doc page. Holly, I personally prefer new window for links. Good start everyone!
Added videos to more pages. Added Google Voice, although I'm not sure its instructional value is worthwhile. Updated Gmail and Hangouts with a few tidbits.
I added the header and intro paragraph which could easily be expanded upon. Considering addressing that not all in the list are free or part of the Google apps for Ed. What do you all think? Revise as needed. --Jodi
I am attempting to add a navigational button to easily get the reader back to the google wiki home page.
Does anyone think it should be at the top or bottom of the page?
Hi Brienna,
It looks like it is linked to "https://www.google.com/voice " which must not be functioning. I tried to relink, but I could not find a page for Google Voice. Did anyone start a page? I will link it to a new page, but I'll leave it bare in case someone already started a page and I just can't locate it.
Ok, I went through every page and checked the font sizes of each heading, subheading, etc. I also made formatting changes, such as spacing, removing bullets in the Alternatives section, adding colons to headings consistently, removing bold on Alternatives, and changing spacing on Resources to reflect consistently on each page. Unless I missed anything, the pages should be pretty formatted. The only thing I didn't fix was in the Uses section. Some sections used bullets while others used a narrative style. I personally don't see a problem with this because each app offers such different features that it might lend itself to a different approach.
I liked the icons at the top of the home page showing what the logo for each Google App was, but I kept wanting to click on them to go to the pages. So I imported each logo as an individual photo, resized it, and added the name and a link to the appropriate page. Now you can click directly on each logo at the top of the home page and go straight to that page. :)

I really liked the logos/links/labels on the home page. What a great idea :) Some of them were showing up in a second row and then some of the labels were no longer below the logo they corresponded to. I put them in a table (hoping that the logo and the label stay together). I hope this is ok.
The Training Center and Resource Page links REQUIRE sign in through Google account. Is there any way to fix that so it does not require a google account Login?
http://openid-provider.appspot.com/ This link was on the Gmail page and it does not open correctly. I don't know too much about open ID, does anyone know who worked on this? Also let's make sure that websites open as a new page, it is much more user friendly.
I added all of the class members under "Contributors." I put the names in alphabetical order and put a bullet symbol between each name. I thought it would be better to put the names in a few long rows, instead of listing down the page because of space.

I noticed that some of the pages open in a new tab where others open in the same window. Should this be corrected or no big deal??
