Session Description


This moderated discussion will provide attendees with a brief background on cloud computing, showing ways it is typically used and the tools needed to make it work. Utilizing a small group break-out format, the presenters will facilitate dialogue about ways in which cloud computing can be used to support and enhance the teaching and learning process to encourage greater collaboration and student involvement.

 

Ideas for using cloud computing to promote learner collaboration and engagement

 

  • Blogger or Wordpress
    • blogs used in a photography class to facilitate learner to learner critiques
    • blogs used in a writing or English class to facilitate learner journaling
  • Google Docs
    • small group collaboration on documents, presentations and spreadsheets
    • instructors can grade student paper in digital format
  • PBwiki or Wikispaces
    • learners can create wiki-based material that showcases their knowledge of class subject and provide opportunity to interact with other students
