Added in the Conclusions page.

What Is It?

Overview: On this page we explore the question "What is Gamification?". We explain why gamification was introduced in education and how it will benefit students' learning.

History

Overview: On this page we look at the history of Gamification and how it has evolved and been adopted by education. The historical perspective will help us understand the significant role that gamification has played in education in the past years.

Current Research

Overview: On this page we link to a variety of current research that explains gamification in education,  the effectiveness of gamification in education, the application of gamification in education, and the gaming elements that work in an educational setting.

How It Impacts The Brain

Overview: On this page we present content that speaks to the effects of games on the brain. We explain that gamification gives the students a drive that failure is not a stopping point. When you fail, try again. This mind set can be applied to student's mastery of educational topics.

Case Studies

Overview: On this page we look at case studies. We look at a guide to implementing gamification into a classroom, the effectiveness of earning badges, how elements of gamification can lead to student engagement and success, and background knowledge for motivation and engagement in education.

Issues

Overview: On this page we look at Gamification being highly touted in current research as a way of engaging and motivating learners for "the belief in its potential to foster motivation, behavioral changes, friendly competition and collaboration in different contexts" (Dichev & Dicheva, 2017). However, gamification is not yet seeing ubiquitous use, here we research the issues surrounding implementation.

Gamification Conclusions

Overview: On this page we look at what we have learned about Gamification in the sections above and why it is important to education.
