- Screen readers
- Scalable fonts (usually easily met by third-party software and hardware
- By avoiding problematic technologies or those not supported by most common webtools (java? flash?)
Style
- Consistent (perhaps through the use of CSS)
- Fonts from the same or similar font families
- See style suggestions on website at ???
- Contrast between font and background (e.g. white on black)
- Number of
- words per line
- Lines per page
- Use of white space

Accessibility
Designing for People with Partial Color and Sight Issues
Sight and color deficiencies produce changes in perception that reduce the visual effectiveness of certain color combinations. A person who has problems differentiating colors usually do so because they are unable to see the same contrast as a person with normal sight. To make effective color choices, exaggerate lightness differences between foreground and background colors and between colors next to each other.
The lightness you perceive will not likely be the same as the lightness perceived by people with color deficits. You can generally assume that they will see less contrast between colors than you will. If you lighten the light colors and darken the dark colors in your design, you will increase its visual accessibility.

This page probably needs some formatting...I can work on this if you guys are finished adding all of the information that you want. If you want to do it yourselves, that if good too. Just want to help.

Hi guys,
You may want to remove the first part that says "for a start, how about" so that the page doesn't look like it is still in progress. "Structure needs to" also seems to be hanging out by itself there. It may help to put all of the information in the same font so that it looks more unified. You have a lot of good information here. :)

Shannon, I tried to edit this page, but I didn't want to do too much bc it wasn't mine. I think that it looks a bit better.
